In the Hazelnut Forest
A gripping drama about redemption, survival, and the bonds we form in the darkest places.
A young man’s life is forever changed when a tragic accident lands him in a harsh Romanian prison. Sentenced to five years, he is thrust into a brutal world ruled by violence, corruption and unspoken codes. Struggling to adapt, he quickly learns that survival depends on strength, alliances, and understanding the ruthless power dynamics within the prison walls.
Amid the chaos, he finds an unlikely mentor—an older inmate who becomes a father figure, guiding him through the dangers of confinement. As they form a deep bond, they stand together against the oppressive system, the prejudices that divide inmates, and the ever-present threat of betrayal.
Set in a Romanian prison in the early 2000s, just before the country’s entry into the European Union, this film explores a system still deeply rooted in corruption, brutality, and oppression. Inside the prison, the old world refuses to let go, creating a stark parallel to the lingering shadows of dictatorship that shaped Romania’s past.
Beyond being a gripping prison drama, the film carries a political subtext, examining the struggle between authoritarian control and personal freedom. A powerful leitmotif runs through the story — football rivalry, which in prison is more than just a game; it’s a symbol of identity, division, and resistance.

Sâmca
During the seasonal transhumance, a grieving shepherd and his sons enter a cursed forest, where the witch-like Sâmca turns folklore into a waking nightmare.
In the remote wilderness of Romania, a shepherd and his family live in isolation, tending to their sheepfold far from the world. As his pregnant wife prepares to give birth, an ancient terror looms—Sâmca, a sinister figure from folklore, said to visit expecting mothers and feed on them in ways beyond comprehension. When tragedy strikes and his wife dies by suicide after losing the child, the shepherd, grief-stricken, sets out on the annual transhumance, leading his two sons and a hired hand through the dark, cursed forest known to belong to Sâmca.
But as they journey deeper, the forest seems to close in around them. Reality and superstition blur as they face unexplainable horrors, their fears manifesting in ways they cannot escape. Is it madness, grief, or is the legend of Simca terrifyingly real? A slow-burning folk horror in the vein of The Witch, this film explores the thin line between faith and fear, the weight of loss, and the unseen forces that haunt those who stray too far into the dark.

Untitled Caritas Project
In post-communist Romania, a desperate nation falls for Caritas, a Ponzi scheme promising fortune, but as the illusion unravels, lives are shattered and hope turns to ruin.
Set in Romania during the chaotic 1990s, this film tells the true story of Caritas, the infamous Ponzi scheme that promised hope but delivered devastation. In a country still reeling from the fall of communism, millions of desperate citizens placed their faith—and their life savings—into a system that was too good to be true.
As fortunes rise and collapse overnight, the film explores the greed, desperation, and blind trust that fueled one of Romania’s greatest financial scandals. More than just a financial thriller, it’s a story about dreams turned to dust, a nation searching for stability, and the cost of believing in something that was never real.
